This tart almost did not get made. There were so many issues that at one point I told myself to forget it and to move to the next recipe in the line up.
Beside the Key Lime pie, a Pecan pie is the only other pie that I would take the time to eat. The only issue I have with them, is that most of the pecan pies out there are a sugary mess. I usually cannot get pass the first bite, before I have my fill and the rest is forgotten and ends up in the trash.
A couple of weeks ago (or maybe a month, I can no longer keep track of things around here) I was contacted by a representative of Duchy’s Originals, specifically their shortbread cookies. It’s official; my chica brunches are now going to happen once a month. We have way too much time to not do them more often and this time around, we had so much fun.
This time it was a bit more special, since my best friend was visiting for the weekend and she got to meet my new set of friends. I also had the plus benefit of having a helping hand in putting it all together.
