Caramel Glazed Spice Apple Walnut Bread

In about 48 hours, Tom and I will be flying over the east coast on our way to meet up with our friends in NYC, to then pile up in a car and drive 2 hours north towards the Catskill region.

We have rented a farmhouse.

In the middle of nowhere!

We have all the Thanksgiving ingredients bought and menu printed and planned.

The goal of the trip is to connect with friends, give thanks over and over again for everything we have and eat huge amounts of food until we cry uncle. In between all this I can guarantee there will be lost of laughs, catch ups stories and in between lots of naps, reading, hikes and the opportunity to lose ourselves in the perfect environment to catch our breath before we get back to our lives the following week.

Because, December is knocking on our doors and its looking like a doozy.

Snap Thursday - Flying High

A couple of weeks ago, we piled ourselves in the car and drove down to enjoy a fabulous Saturday day at the Seafood Festival.

The drive was the most boring part.

I really hate living in Florida; we have the most unexciting roads to get anywhere.  No mountains, no rivers, lakes or waterfalls or anything exiting to see out the rolling car window.

Just flat, tame roads.

GCC: Tuscan Cannellini Bean Soup

For the past few days we have experience early fall weather.  Cool nights, gorgeous days, filled with a nice breeze and bright sunshine.

Today was no exception, we woke up to the perfect day to lazy out at home and just be together.

Tom and I did not have to think twice about it – we were going to park ourselves on our couch, snuggle and watch tons of TV.

Just like I did not think twice about what to make for our lunch.  Our December Gutsy Cook menu options it’s all about comfort and warmth, and this week’s option had the perfect choice for a cool day like today.
